Things to think about.....
Protest Outrageous Oil Profits.... The acronym was easy to come by when you look at the state of things. Heating oil, gas prices, they continue to rise to the profit of few and the detriment of many. We use the "poop" label to raise money to donate to charitable causes that help with, (among other things), home heating costs for the less fortunate. The "poop" label is also there to raise awareness that this is a problem in every community, in every country in the world.
Billionaires are making tremendous amounts of money from oil production. It is not your local gas station owner, it is not your fuel delivery person. The money goes to a small group of people who take little interest in the environmental and economic damage they cause, and would rather enrich themselves than the communities that surround them................Poop on them!
Each day I pass a gas pump, I see that the price has gone up. It did not cost the oil company more to bring it to you. The oil you see today was bought and paid for last year, or the year before. The oil company has met the cost of production and distribution. Any price increase that you see is profit being heaped upon profit.
Current news events gives oil companies an excuse to raise prices, and we have little choice but to pay it. The state of the world lets oil companies say "we need to produce more oil in order to lower prices", and we allow them to double their drilling operations. These are places that can not handle the current environmental impact, let alone an increase. Places who's people never see economic benefit, only economic suffering.
All of this so that oil companies and their shareholders can make billions, and billions in profit that is often not taxed, and takes advantage of the poor.
So wear your "Poop" proudly. Donate to those less fortunate. Take an interest in politics. Vote for the kind of people who will demand accountability and let those in public office know how you feel. Then, when somebody looks to you and says, "There's "poop" on your shirt.", you can say, "you'd better believe it!", and tell them why they need some too.
